ST. You should be aware of the warning signs your body is telling you.

Our bodies constantly send signals about our health. A yellow tint to your skin or eyes could mean jaundice, a liver issue where “our bodies are unable to eliminate bilirubin.”

Small white flecks on nails may seem harmless but could indicate a deficiency in zinc, calcium, or protein. Thin, blistered lips may signal dehydration or even a reaction to certain lipsticks. Rounded or downward-curving nails might suggest chronic lung or digestive problems if untreated.

Ulcers inside the mouth can be caused by stress or hormonal shifts. A lack of vitamin B12 may also play a role. White bumps around the eyelashes, known as styes, may indicate dry skin or diabetes. A grey or white ring around the cornea, called arcus senilis, can mean high cholesterol if seen in younger people.

A rosy tongue could point to a vitamin deficiency, infection, or oral herpes. One patient also had varicose veins that didn’t improve with compression stockings. After two vein procedures, her discomfort and swelling disappeared.

Pay attention to these signs—your body might be trying to tell you something important.
