Dermatologists across the country are seeing a noticeable increase in acne outbreaks specifically on the nose, with young adults being the most affected group. Experts link this trend to a combination of factors, including hormonal changes, poor skincare habits, and environmental stress.
“The nose has a high concentration of oil glands, which makes it one of the most acne-prone areas on the face,” explained Dr. Rachel Nguyen, a dermatologist at the Skin Health Institute. “When excess oil mixes with dirt, sweat, or bacteria, it easily clogs pores and causes inflammation.”
Prolonged mask use, heavy makeup, and increased stress levels are also believed to be contributing to the rise in nose acne cases. Many patients report that regular over-the-counter treatments no longer work as effectively as before.
Specialists recommend washing the face twice daily with gentle cleansers, avoiding pore-clogging cosmetics, and maintaining a balanced diet. For persistent or painful acne, professional treatments such as topical retinoids or mild chemical peels may be necessary.
“Healthy skin starts with consistency,” Dr. Nguyen added. “Even small changes in daily skincare routines can significantly reduce breakouts on the nose.”
