This morning, Lala noticed something wasn’t quite right.
Kien wasn’t his usual cheerful self. His voice sounded scratchy, he had tissues nearby, and he let out a sneeze that echoed down the hallway. That’s when Lala found out—Kien had caught a cold.
At first, Lala didn’t know what to do. She felt a little flutter of worry in her chest. She hated seeing someone she cared about not feeling well. Even though it was just a cold, to Lala, it felt big—because Kien was important to her.
But after a few moments, that worry turned into action.
She quietly made a little “get well” card with crayons and stickers. She brought him a glass of warm water and offered to sit nearby (at a safe distance, of course!). And most of all, she made sure to remind him to rest—and promised she’d save him a piece of cream cake for when he felt better.
Sometimes, when someone we love gets sick, it’s not about fixing everything. It’s about being there, in little, thoughtful ways.
Lala may be small, but her heart is big. And today, she reminded us all that kindness, care, and a warm smile can be just the medicine someone needs.
