Fresh from his morning bath and wrapped in a soft towel, Baby Ricky usually felt squeaky clean and ready for playtime. But today, things were different. A mild rash made his skin itchy and uncomfortable—and to make matters worse, his tiny belly was rumbling with hunger.
Mommy gently laid him down and began soothing his skin with coconut oil. But Ricky had no patience for pampering. He squirmed, kicked, and cried out in protest, tossing the towel aside in frustration.
“Eeee! Eeee!” he wailed, loud and fierce, demanding attention.
Where was his milk? Why was lotion taking so long?
When Mommy reached for the oil again, Ricky gave her a full-blown drama moment—rolling away, glaring over his shoulder as if to say, “I didn’t sign up for a spa day. I want my milk!”
Mom just smiled, kissed his forehead, and gently held him still. “Almost done, baby,” she whispered.
At last, when the oil was smoothed and the rash calmed, she handed him the bottle. Ricky snatched it like a long-lost treasure and drank in big, relieved gulps.
With every sip, his frown faded. His little tail curled, his muscles relaxed, and his eyelids drooped in sleepy contentment.
Because sometimes, even the feistiest little monkey just needs a full belly and a little love.
