Lala Can’t Sleep Due to Serious Eye Problems – Kien Tries Everything to Save Her Eye!
An emotional scene unfolded this week as Lala, the gentle and beloved monkey cared for by the Kien family, was unable to sleep through the night due to what caretakers described as “serious eye discomfort.” The usually cheerful Lala appeared unusually quiet and restless—rubbing her eyes, squinting in the light, and curling up in a corner with clear signs of distress.
“She didn’t touch her evening fruit, didn’t play with her toys,” said Thuy, one of her caretakers. “It broke our hearts. Her eyes looked red and watery, and she kept blinking like something was bothering her deeply.”
As the situation grew more concerning, Kien—who shares a deep bond with Lala—immediately stepped in. Wasting no time, he cleared his schedule and devoted his full attention to finding relief for her. From gently rinsing her eyes with safe saline solution to applying veterinarian-approved soothing drops, every step was taken with care, love, and urgency.
“It was so hard to watch her in pain,” Kien said. “She’s more than just an animal to us—she’s family. I just knew we had to do everything to help her.”
After a late-night consultation with a local vet specializing in primate health, it was determined that Lala was likely experiencing irritation due to a minor eye infection or sensitivity, possibly caused by dust or an unseen scratch.
With treatment begun immediately and Kien by her side throughout the night, Lala slowly began to settle. By morning, her swelling had decreased slightly, and she was able to nap peacefully in a soft blanket on Kien’s lap.
“The bond between them is remarkable,” said Dr. Linh An, the veterinarian who examined Lala. “When animals are deeply loved and trust their caregivers, even painful treatments become easier.”
Community members and online fans of Lala flooded the caretakers’ page with messages of support, many praising Kien’s dedication and sending wishes for Lala’s quick recovery.
As of this afternoon, Lala is showing signs of improvement and even reached out for her favorite banana slice—a small but hopeful step.
“Her smile hasn’t fully returned,” Kien added, “but her eyes are a little clearer today. That’s enough to give us hope.”
